    Street scene no.1

Here is another possible contender for the contest. The original is more colorful and contrasty but I couldn't quite duplicate the effect for web displaying.

    comments are welcome!

Looks plenty colorful and contrasty to me I played with this on my pc with different crops, but this looks pretty darn good the way it is. I like it.

Hmmm! now I like this one too.

Question you have to ask yourself is the calendar going to show the nice bits of Montreal or the Bad bits or a mixture? Tough call and stop giving me hard decisions, this is again a really good photo.

Another good image, Seb. I like your comp style in these shots. Good quality and simple yet interesting. As for what would be best to enter, I'm feeling like this contest is sort of a good public relations type thing with the community and showing more neighborly type warm positive images might be more what they have in mind . . .but, who knows, thats whats so tough about these contests.

Great eye for composition, I like the way you have spaced the different element of interest through out the image. Your colors are well saturated and they seem to pop. Very nice photograph, but will it depict the image that the promoters are looking for?
Don't forget about the Gallery. Are your photos there??

Very nice composition and I love the colors. I think this highlights how clean a city Montreal is even in the back alleys. Most cities don't look this clean.
The color is nice and would make for a great calendar page for me...but my tastes are far from the norm.
I don't know if this is what they are looking for but I think it shows creativity in showing a side of Montreal that most just walk right by and take for granted.
    Very Nice.

    Hey guys,

Thanks for the feedback. You are raising a question that I have been asking myself. I am not sure to which extend I can afford to submit something like a back alley... The "instructions" for the contest are vague, it could be anything from architecture to people and everything in betwen but I suspect that they probably want to see something friendly and not too edgy...

On a side note, Montreal isn't that clean at all. Vancouver and Toronto are infinitely cleaner. This specific back alley happens to be especially nice (to me) but I have others shots that aren't flattering at all and that I would never consider to submit for the contest although they are of some interest to me.

    regards

    Seb
