    Sofa Shots

Do either of these work? Any suggestions for improvement?

The second one almost works because of the interesting contrast between line and texture (leather vs. glass, angled vs. straight, etc). I would say though that you need to get in closer then go a little wider angle so we have more of a "landscape" if that makes sense.

Also, always try to keep in mind what you're trying to accomplish with such images. I'm prone to taking shots like these at times when I'm really "seeing everything" and I find that often-times no one knows what the hell I am trying to convey but me. At least where the heavily abstraced indoor shots go.

With film it can get costly (and potentially wasteful depending on your other photographic goals), but with digital, shoot away.

    Thanks

Thanks for the reply. To be honest with you I took these pictures because I was drawn to the textures, and lines as well as the light as it fell on the sofa. I guess I liked the way it looked, but I wasn't really trying to accomplish anything. Maybe this is why the image just doesn't work...

    Thanks again,
    Corey
