    Re-post with some corrections

put up with me please I'm trying to get this ---- here's the original shot with no cropping---white post removed...color corrected but not faded...catchlights slightly brought out in the eyes for a bit more life...so----

what works, what doesn't...be specific please...what can I change? is it a strong enough image to be good (not great) does it have any redeeming qualities worth saving or hanging on to...put aside the fact it's my kid...pretend it's just a kid

Hey Natalie, the one thing that keeps popping out at me is the reddish glow over her arm on the left side. Is that meant to be there?

    Nice ****

As for suggestions: there is too much yellow in it, some distracting red in the corner like the other member mentioned, could use some sharpness and catch lights and more definition in the face.

And this would be the result:

Okay... here is my review of it, trying to use some of the structure that I have seen you use with others:

Lighting: I like the picture now that the eyes are clearer, and with the edit that David has done to remove the excess yellow. I mentioned in one of my posts today that I like warm pictures, in this particular picture though, I did not feel the extra yellow worked.

Background: It looked like the red pot of flowers on the left added that fake red glow, again, I think it works now with what David has done.

Subject: I think the expression on her face is jus funny (in a nice way of course). I like it very much. I would crop the bottom to make the picture start at the post (even though the aspect ratio may go wild). So that my imaginary game of "pick-a-boo" that she is playing works. Maybe if she was look straight at the camera, it would have been more fun (i know it is like taboo to look straight on, I think it would have been cooler here).
Opinions I got lots, expertise none!! Hmm… except for giving opinions!!

    Talking

    Dear Natalie

I was thinking ( just my opinion ) if the kid could have turned her head just a bit to get some of her hair at the back on the photo .
The faded background is well done and draw your attention to the child.

    A very good photo .

    Kind regards

    james
