    Play at the Plate

I am working on getting into sports photography and have been spending some time shooting my sons baseball team. This was shot at night with Rebel 300D. Please let me know your thoughts.

It'd be interesting to know the exposure info / film speed on this one before any advice is offered. I like the shots contents - great action.

F4.5 @ 1/100. This was the best I could get after dark with the stadium lights.

Could you open it a bit more than F4.5 and tighten the shutter speed a bit? I would think it wouldn't mess too much w/ the depth of field at the distance you're shooting.

Hahah, take my advice lightly though, I'm just starting.

Get more light on the subject....

Get more light on the subject. You did a great job catching the moment, however since this is your home field so to speak you are going to have to find a way to shoot here on a regular basis. You didn't say what your ISO was or what the aperature range of the lense was, both important. If you are wanting to document night games at this field you may have to invest in some faster glass. Keep shooting and experimenting with your camera settings till you find the right combination. Nice job.
