    Old Man Poplar

Comments and critiques very welcome. Controversy accepted as well , if my other pictures from this roll are any indication. Have at 'em!

Nice composition going on here. There's only one nitpick which is the small dark branch that starts on the left of the photo but which continues all the way to the top right of the photo. Nothing much you can do about that though. Nice eye.

Nice one Dz. Love the graphic quality of this shot.
I'd just crop out the bottom and top left side corners.

    Dear All,

Thank you for the kind responses. Wheew!! Just a big sigh of relief on that one. Not that I don't mind people being honest with my photos, in fact it is better when they are. I would rather have honest criticism than fawning praise that I know wrong. Thank you most of all for being honest. Here is the suggested crop. I realized once Jon said it that, there were some unshapely things (in lieu of a better word) in the left hand corners. It looks better.

    Looks good.

Can't miss that it's a poplar between the form and those big buds.

Dzerzhinski, this is a good perspective of this tree and i like the lighting going on here. The crop looks better. Nice tones in the b&w and this is one time when I'm glad there are no clouds i the sky. I think they would have lent to a busy distraction through the branches. The smooth gray even sky helps the tree and the reaching branches to really stand out. nice work
