Typically I don't like architecture photos, but the first one on yours I actually like ALOT. There's a tangent line come up off into the clouds on the left side, but that's not too bad.

    Hello Yoyo,

Call me a loosy reviewer but frankly, I don't see what to critisize here. Every single shot here is strong and work for itself. I enjoy the perspective of the first one and the dark cloudy sky. I love the obvious energy on the second one and the fourth one is so luminous! The weakest one may be the third one, but even there, I cannot say that there is a problem with the shot. Very nice work.

By the way which specific lense/camera were you using for this session? I am found of the wide angle look. I may get a prime myself (the only problem being the 1.5x crop factor on DSLR's...).

    best regards

    Seb

Hi Sean, Thanks for the comments.

Hi Seb, Thanks for your kind words. These photos were taken with a Canon 10D and a 15 mm full frame fisheye. I bought this lens a month ago and really love it. It is now one of my favourite lenses. I was told that the Sigma fisheye is also good but I have not tried it.

    All the best.

    Hey again Yoyo,

Thanks for the precisions. On second thought, I will criticise the fouth picture. The framing is great but the reflection on the window distract me a little. Personally, I would totally get rid of it at the first place by using a circular polarizer or exagerate it to include the reflection of the street in the picture.

    Just a personal opinion though.

    Then again, nice work

That first one is a real winner in my opinion, one of the better architecture shots I've see in a while. Well done Yoyo!

    Hi Wings,
Thanks for your kind comments. The centre one is the Bank of China Building, The architecture is I.M.Pei. The building is unique in its structure by releasing the stress to the ground by using a lot of crosses. There is no piller except at the rim of each floor.
    All the best.

Yes Yoyo, that's a unique building and a building to be proud of in many aspects.
A while ago I found a site about skycrapers and the most votes went to the Bank of China Building ;)

Yoyo, these are all good with the first one being the best by far. I love the wide angle lens as well. I have the 19-35 mm zoom from Tamron and am amazed at how sharp it can be. I would have to agree with Youngshooter about the angle of the shot of the third one.
So you have the double decker buses in Hong Kong. Do you also have the Articulated buses? Those are the ones that look like two buses attached to eachother with an accrdion type connection in the middle to allow it to pivot and turn. Sort of looks like a train
Once again, really like that first shot. Good work

    Hi Gary,
Thanks for your comments. We dont have the articulated bus here but all the trains and metros here are aritculated. Are you a bus fan? By the way, I just read a few books in buses in a bookstore early this afternoon.
    All the best.

I've noticed your work and been impressed by it, but never really had any comments. The first shot is excellent but one minor point - looks like a tree branch in the lower left corner. I think it should either be eliminated from the frame - or maybe made more noticable, a bit of contrast in the composition to the modern architecture. Great buildings. Minor criticism to an overall excellent shot.

Second shot would be a good candidate for a tourism brochure, etc. Again well done.

All of the photos are overshadowed by the first one, it's crazy, I really like it. Great depth, composure, colours....It almost gives me a reverse sense of vertigo.

All are technically sound, but I find the first and third to be the most compelling of the group. Hong Kong, correct? The clouds and placement of the buildings in the first adds not only visual interest but some drama as well. And the framing of the fountain / statue in the third is quite interesting as well. I also like the speeding bus in the second one but that composition overall isn't as strong as the other two IMO.
