Good camera for night shots $300 range

i'm looking for a digital camera that has good night mode shots w/out using flash.
I was looking at Fuji Finepix s3000. I was wondering if this camera is what i'm looking for.
Or can u suggest any other cameras good for night shots for $300 range retail price.
*Fuji S3000 got huge lense(?). Is this usually good for night shots? or is this just for better optical zoom?

The SOny F717 had great noise reduction, did very well at night shots.

I recommend a 100 dollar Pentax K1000, doesn't need a battery to operate the shutter, so you can do any sort of exposure times with no worries. Cheap digitals don't do too great of a job.
