Reminds me of Cairo...and the picture seems to have a photojournalistic quality to it, like what's going on here is news...Others may find that strange, but that's just the feeling I get when I look at this.
Hmmm, interesting shot here. A few things that I'd like to point out. The crop for me almost makes the kid secondary rather then the primary subject. I just opened up the thread and all I saw was the buildings, and thought neat shot, but then I look down and there's the kid. Now rather this is your intent, I'm not sure, but you could do some interesting crops with this. Also, the second building seems to be in a shadow, which puts it really out of place and distracting. The buildings go from properly lighted, to shadowed, back to proper lighting. Distratcing, but can be avoided. Overall, great shot and great location to shoot.

Hahaha.. Just crazy. First thing I said (to myself) when I was there was "this reminds me of Cairo". Yes it does! It's creepy that feeling. I was there (vedado, cuba) & it was so similar to what I remember Cairo to be like. I lived in Cairo for 7 years.

That shadow really bothers me too As for the crop, you wouldn't see this photo from the building down if it weren't for the net. You'd see the whole thing once But yes I was think about cropping just around the kid and the cars. I think I'll give that a try.

I'd love to see the crops you can come up with for this. There are quite a few crops I could think of that could really work out (Kid/Cars, Telephone poll/buildings). Quite a few possibilities!
Would love to see the crops if you get anything good,

I will Jared. I just gotta find the raw image, I'm sure there was even more that I cropped out to get this photo. I could probably recrop but one thing that shadow will remailn It drives me nuts. I tried to PS it out, but it just doesn't look natural unless of coarse I wanna spend hours & hours adjusting it. I'd rather fly back to that location, hire a kid to walk across & take a shot at noon than fix that shadow. lol.
I'll surely find it though.
Thnx for your interest man.
