    I'm having a hard time with the second one. It's too dark, and the bee isn't sharp.

    Tuba, sometimes it takes a while before people have time to come on, then, like in this case, I'm not sure what I think, so I have to let it sit for a while before I can think of what I do feel. Well, in the first shot, the blue is a bit too close to the blue in the sky, that could be remedied pretty easily in ps. i don't think it's the most flattering flag shot that I've seen but it's not bad.. so so. The second shot would be great if the contrast was a little less. It's hard to look at but I just realized what the problem is. It's the red in the backgound. Try a crop similar to this (below) and it instantly makes it easier to look at. Tame down the contrast a bit and the bee is out of focus so try to work on that if possible. Keep shooting!!

    I agree that the bee shot is much easier on the eyes with the top cropped off, and seeing sheshells post makes me think, how would the flag look without the left side?? Just focusing on the blue of the flag and the stars.... Actually, you could crop either from the bottom or from the side...
