    Cave Hill Cemetery

A trip last Sunday to Cave Hill Cemetery (famous resting place of such Kentucky luminaries as Col. Harlan Sanders) resulted in this shot. I like it, but find it a bit stuffy, sort of like the cemetery itself.

Composition is good...was it overcast that day? Or let me ask you this, does the picture represent the view you had when standing there? I think the stuffiness you mentioned comes from the lighting you had available to you...and then there is that dead tree in front of the monument-type-thing

    Hello Stephen,

The Cave Hill Cemetery definately looks like a superb place and I mostly enjoy your photograph.

I think that your point of view is good and that your composition is fairly well balanced but the sky distract me a lot, which is a shame considering how beautiful the scene is. The fact that the sky is washed out lessen its aesthetic value while the leafs in the upper left corner are quite blown out.

For this reason, I took the liberty to crop your picture to focus on what I found to be the most visually pleasing. I also thought that b&w could do well too but your color version is nice. My main goal was to get rid of the sky.

I hope that you don't mind me playing with your picture and feel free to disagree with my tweaks if you don't enjoy them.

    regards

    Seb
