    Cabin in Winter

I'm very curious to know what people think of this sort of image.
I've manipulated it in PS to give it an "orton effect" (slide sandwich; one in focus, one out).
I love the ethereal quality of this effect.

Any thoughts on this? Comments good or bad?

I think the style is very interesting. It seems to me you did a good job with the effect.

The cabin is interesting, as far as I can tell. But iit might be a bit too small in relation to the rest of the image... (?) There might just be too much negative space. Sometimes that's good, but here I just want more data on the cabin itself and it's so small...

Just playing with the compositon... What do you think of this? It might rob the photo of the snowy landscape too much however.

I like the idea of the landscape dominating however I do see your point. After looking at it for awhile I felt the composition wasn't quite right. I like this composition better as it follows the rule of thirds more closely, breaking it into 1/3's. I like the cabin anchored closer to the bottom right. The original was too heavy on foreground.
As for the effect, I really like it. It enhances some images but not others especially images with darker tones (but not too dark).
    Thanks for your suggestions.
