This is a very pretty shot! It almost doesn't look real... where was it taken? I like the path in the center of the photo. Nice work!

    Great Winter Scene

This is a great winter scene. I love the snow covered trees and the trails through the snow. I find the lower parts of the foreground trees to be unnessary to the compositon and feel the image would be stronger if the photo were cropped more at the bottom to allow the trail to end closer to the bottom of the image. The overall photo seem to need to be poped up a notch. The snow doesn't have the pop or impact that it should, just seem on my monitor to be a bit muddy. This winter scape is a great catch and for sure a keeper. Share more of your photographs with us.

Seems a tad out of focus (particularly in the foreground), but otherwise it's great. It really conveys the feeling of cold silence that you get when standing on a snow-covered mountain. Keep them coming... I'm sure you have more great shots to show.

The focus is probably due mostly to the camera (slightly older 2MP Fuji). And I think I agree with cropping the bottom a little, although I have been trying to get away from shooting too much sky, which would explain how it was taken.

Here's another shot from the same area, this one I blew it up to 8X10 and it looks great.

Wow- that is really beautiful! Sometimes I wish it snowed in Florida... but most of the time, I'm just happy to see pictures!

I think you may have been able to get that "pop" effect if the shy was clear... creating a little more contrast and definition.

Another excellent shot. I only wish I knew how to ski deep powder like that. Tried it earlier this year with less-than-great success.

I really enjoyed looking at this picture. I like the composition and the tonality of the picture. I also really like the splash of blue in the top right corner, it adds a lot for me.

    Wow nice photo's

I like both your pictures a lot, they remind me of the classic "chocolate box" photo's. It's also nice to see, that with a rather modest 2mp camera you are producing interesting photographs. Post some more of your work.

My girlfriend skiing, this is a scan off of a film print and the scanning seemed to throw off the colors a bit....

Keep the comments coming, I'm really starting to like this whole photography thing.

I liike all of these as well with the top one being my fav. Although the images are not sharp and vivid, they do succeed in getting the feel of the scene across and letting the viewer enjoy it. Might be time for you to upgrade to a better outfit.

The top 2 were taken with my little brother's camera, and the third with a point and shoot.
I've also taken several with my brother's 3.0 MegaPixel camera and more recently my girlfriend inherited a Canon S30 3.0 MegaPixel which seems to do an excellent job, so at the moment we're going to stick with that...

Danny, I kind of think you're onto something here with this photography thing! All three of these are fantastic!

All of them have absolutely incredible light, especially those first two. WOW! I wish I was right there shooting with ya. The first two appear to have a greenish cast, but it still works. The third has some weird colors going on, but you acknowledged as to why.

I'm not so sure the first one would be better cropped from the bottom. I like it as is, except for the out of focus bit. If cropped, and depending on how much, you'd have just the tips of the trees exposed. There would still be enough of them exposed that it would still work by doing so. And, by leaving the trees in there, they add more contrast and depth to the scene. I could go either way. This one appears tilted to the right, which you might want to rotate CCW.

In the same manner, the second one appears to be slightly tilted to the left, but maybe not. Some trees look straight and others not. I might also consider cropping the right far enough to remove the frayed edges of that tree. Other than that, I would like to also see it without the tracks, but it certainly works with them in there, too.

    Again, very nice!
