    Winter Snow Scene

I know it early but we had some snow last weekend, and I couldn't resist to take a shot of my neighbors house. It's very countryish if you agree. Pic taken with Canon D-Rebel 28-55MM lens Shutter 1/125 f 9.0, 100 ISO any comments? I'm sure you'll see more this coming winter from me so please send your comments so I can post the best shots.

Hi, I'm no expert but the composition looks great, i like the inclusion of the flag, gives it that extra colour. I'm not sure about the snow, would like to have seen more detail is it a lttle over exposed?? What would it look like in B&W with the flag staying the same colour ??

Excellent composition and once you are getting that part right the rest is easy. Would love to see a snowman on the lawn, kids playing etc. would make for a lovely xmas card.Maybe your neighbour would like some to send at xmas ?

I like it, but I might compose it differently next time. It's almost like two different pictures now, one being the trees on the left and the other being the house. I'd probably try to focus the viewer's attention on one or the other.

I will follow what everybody has already said: the composition works very well here. However, there is an overall cyan cast that is distracting. You might be able to improve this pic by desaturating the cyan channel.

    Cheers,

    Steph.

I like the composition, but the snow looks a little blown out... something that's easy to do. Try for a meter reading on the snow, and a meter reading on the green of the tree or the brown of the siding on the house, and split the difference, giving weight to the reading taken from the darker source.
