What is the idea behind this one John?
Why real blood?
Are you trying to shock or gross out your viewers?
It's rather stark, which I think works, and the dark red against the pink works well. So does the dark background, that is they both contrast.

Actually I cut myself while working on a computer and eating candy hearts. When I saw the blood a flash bulb, (not and incandescent light, cuz hey, I'm a photog!) went off in my mind. So I just threw this together. The heart is actually sitting on the underside of a cdr-w drive.
Thanks!

I like it, wouldn't have guessed that this is necessarily a small object, there is no sense of scale but that isn't important, the overall image works well, very appropriate title! One remark would be that I would like to see more blood!! (Real or otherwise, not asking you to reach for the kitchen knife!!) this appears to be a stain of blood, would like to see it running out and onto the surface.....or maybe that's just my dark side kicking in again....
Is it me or do I see a pair of cartoon lips on the heart, or a masked raider in red with just his eyes pearing out.
I'm with Herriot for more blood drooling onto the CD, (Oops must put the fangs back, getting excited! LOL)
Good photo I like it a lot - one question, how do you cut yourself on a computer, did you have it apart, hence bottom of CD drive?
