Autumn theme: conkers

Found a big tree and made a few compositions. Say if they are well watchable.

I like the first one because the nut looks like some sort of monster eye looking out from the leaves. The colors are nice but you might consider boosting up the contrast some to give it more punch. Also it might be worth looking around for some more varied colored leaves to make it more interesting. You might consider cropping it so the nut isn’t in the center of the frame like that and also make the nut an even more dominant feature of the photo. Finally on the first picture the stick that is near the middle of the right side of the picture doesn’t really seem to go along with all the leaves. If it were my picture I would remove it.

The other shots don’t do a lot for me as there isn’t any real center of interest that is able to hold my attention for very long.

Good try and well worth the effort. While the colours of the conker shell almost blend in with the leaves it would maybe have been worth while taking the conker out of its shell.Still nice ones.

These are interesting shots. The focus is better than on your previous submission. I am not sure about the colours of the various elements being so alike. I mean, it looks good but it doesn't have as much impact as it could. I guess that it would worth to rework them a little to boost up contrast or maybe to adjust levels.

I would agree with Greg here. I like the first one only for the reason that the conker looks like a monsters eye. I would maybe play on that by toning down in color and levels all else in the bg and really have that monster eye peering out. The others are too busy with none of the leaves making for a good visual in this comp as they are all but completely falling apart and the colors too similiar. But you have something interesting there with that first one.
