The top two images are really nice images, particularly the bird, really clear and the background is nicely blurred, great colours!! The deer pose is very interesting and I like the unusual way of looking at this animal, there's a sense of surprise in the image, not sure if the other deer in the background helps or not but both are great, thanks for sharing!
My favorite is the first photo because of the color and the dof. Just great colors on this, but I think some kind of crop (very slight) may help to get the bird a little more of center.
I not a big animal photo fan - so the others don't appeal to me a much...not that much interesting going on in those (one of the birds looks bored ;) ).
The last photo has the best composition of all of the but needs more color in the sky perhaps to make it a tad more interesting.
Hope this helps.
Cheers.
I'm always mentally photographing everything as practice.

I like the 1st picture the best because of the soft background colors which almost look pastel-like (no PS right?). The bird really stands out beautifully with its bright colors. It works for me because even though the size of the bird is relatively small (could be bigger), that is not necessary as the stem on where the bird is parched helps support the entire frame and gives it strength. That is what also makes the bird come alive, at the same time it is small but elegant. =)
One comment about the deer picture is that the behind looks like it is supposed to protrude outward more than the head, but somehow (maybe because of the sharpness of the head and the blurriness created by the tail), they seem to be on the same plane. This make it mesmerizing and a little tricky on the brain!

#1 is a super shot. Great composition with the angular branches. Color is supurb (if it is infact true?) and DOF works a treat to focus on the subject. A crop off the top would make a stronger image and focus more on the bird. Definately worthy of a second, third and fourth look
#2 has an emotive appeal but seems a little soft around the eyes and head area. The image is cropped a little close to the tail for me.....
#3 is a little too far away. The sky is blown and the angle of the shot is "unflattering" to the bird. Too much foliage. Would probably not warrent a second look........
#4 is better than #3 presenting a the bird well but is still too far away, too much grey sky, not showing enough detail in the feathers or head and is a rather unmoving stance by the bird........
