After a hard day at the pumpkin patch

    Hi everyone
I just wanted to submit 1 more.
Sometime's it's hard to see past your love of the subject to have an honest opinion.
I'm really new at this. Any pointers appreciated.
    Thanks

    good idea

I take shots of my children a lot and it is hard to be objective...here's my two cents

likes...angle, colors (although the light is a bit harsh) , placement of the girl and being able to see the patch but a feeling of tiredness and isolation(being pumkined out) the side profile.

what I think could be different-- getting the whole body in, maybe placing her further down the fence to really get a feel of isolation from you and from the patch, maybe getiing down a little more level to her heightand cropping that distracting fleck of blue at the top left corner (signage?)

I think you had a good idea....
"I was not trying to be shocking, or to be a pioneer.
I wasn't trying to change society, or to be ahead of my time.
I didn't think of myself as liberated, and I don't believe that I did anything important.
I was just myself. I didn't know any other way to be, or any other way to live."

It'd be interesting to see a shot taken from a lower angle so that the viewer is more with the girl rather than down on her, while still keeping the pumpkins in the background, though the sky and such may detract from the subject.

Hi,,,thank you for taking time to comment on this photo.
It's really hard to tell, but we were in the back of the hay wagon. I was pressed against the boards which made it a little harder to manipulate the shot, and I was trying not to include any of the other people who were there (the blue at the top left).
I'm not trying to make excuses for the imperfections,,,,lol ,,,just explanation.
I find one of the hardest things for me is to try to "plan" the shots I take without making them look "planned" and trying to get them in before something ruins the whole thing (people, subject movement, etc.).
I'm hoping this is something I'll get better at as I understand more what I'm doing.
    Thanks again,,,,
I'm learning so much here already!

Your picture does a great job of telling its own story.
One problem is that the subject is centered in the frame. I think the picture could be strengthened by cropping it to square just behind her head. This would also make it feel like she is looking into the shot, rather than out of it. The angled wagon bed is a good element in the picture.
    Very nice.
