    1st Post. Comments requested.

This past Friday I came across this ironic picture in Downtown Denver, Colorado. With the current political enviornment in the US, I couldn't resist taking a picture and modifying it in Photoshop. Please let me know what you think.

I like the potential messages, but can't help but think that it'd be stronger if you left all the color in, I jsut don't think the manipulation does anything to add to the image and instead makes it look gimmicky. I think it's strong enough on it's own to not require this sort of "enhancement."

How to tell the most experienced shooter in a group? They have the least amount of toys on them.

I see your point. Here is the orginal image with no modifications.

this is a good capture, and the original works best as it stands. the message is clear without the manipulation, so i personally would leave it as it is..........................perhaps bumping up the contrast might add to it. It could be my monitor, but the background seems a bit faded................

congrats on a clever pic and spotting a good opportunity!

    cheers

I think I would like this picture more if everything were in color. For some reason it looks overly processed to me. Nice irony by the way.

Nice shot... as for the color vs black and white I think it really depends what you are trying to go for... if you are trying to make an artistic shot with a message, I think the b/w version works better, if you are going for a more documentary shot i belive the color works better.

I agree with the others about the color. If the shot had just the flags and not the sign, the contast of color symbol to b&w reality could represent a metaphor for false representation or perception. With the sign included, the statement no longer is there. Misrepresentation whether deliberate or not, would serve as an invitation, not a deterent. Then again, I probably am just rambling. Either way, I like it in color.
