    Continuous Shooting/Flast Problem

I have a Fuji F700 camera which I really enjoy, but I'm having problems with the Continuous Shooting mode. For one, it will automatically set my flash to Supressed Flash (which I'm not really familiar with) & my shutter speed to 25. I can switch out of Auto Mode & into Manual Mode & change the shutter speed, but the flash cannot be changed. It seems as if the flash is not even firing in the Supressed Flash mode, which doesn't make sense. Any thoughts??

    Thanks.

That's actually the point of Suppressed Flash mode - it will keep the flash from firing, even when in auto mode. There should be an option on the menu to take the flash out of suppressed mode.

So Supressed Flash is basically like no flash at all?
There is an option to change the flash...but not when it's in 'Continuous Shooting' mode. It's locked in. Bummer.
Does the Supressed Flash have anything to do w/ a slow shutter speed?
    Thanks,
    Danielle

    Re: Continuous Shooting/Flast Problem

I'm not familiar with that camera, but one reason it may not fire in continuous mode (if that is actually the problem) is due to the flash recycle time. It usually takes a couple of seconds to recharge depending on the flash, exposure (flash output) and battery condition.

If you need continuous firing of the flash, you'd really need to get a separate flash and extra battery pack like a Quantum or the Nikon SD-8A that connects to their SB series Speedlites. If your camera doesn't have a hot shoe (which may be locked out like I wondered about above - check the manual), then you're probably out of luck...

    Re: Continuous Shooting/Flast Problem

Getting your flash to fire along with continuous shooting modes with almost any camera is a challenge that usually reuqires expensive battery packs and sometimes special flashes, and sometimes the right camera body. For any sort of a sequence I try my best to use available light but with a Quantum Turbo battery I can do short bursts with my 20D/550ex combo (my 10D doesn't do this as well though, I think because of the shorter synch speed). Some studio strobes can do it very well... but that's a whole nuther deal...

Thank you for your replies. It helps to know that I probably need to just try to shoot them outdoors!

    I really appreciate your insight.
