    Re: Your thoughts on Flickr

Pros, I have met many photographers on Flickr, groups from my hometown and local area. I can search different groups and get a good idea how a certain camera, film, lens ect will look or perform. I can search different areas that I want to travel to and see pictures of it or ask someone questions about it before I go there. I see a lot of great photographs on there that remind me how much more I need to improve and I am amazed at all of the talent out there. Geo tags.
Cons, I can't really think of any.

500px.com is a great site for photographers. It's a mix between flickr and twitter but really for photographers not just photosharing as flickr mainly is.

Posting stuff on creative commons is a good way to share your work. It's also a great place to go for inspiration.

    Re: Your thoughts on Flickr

Flickr is nice for 1) unlimited backup and 2) easy sharing of masses of photos with family and friends.

The social aspects I can't comment on, I never use them and kinda wish they didn't waste their time on them.

I continue to use it because there is no better alternative, but I really feel that it's dated and could be so much more than Yahoo really lets it be.

    I can :

The comments you receive - possibly because you have a lot of flckr friends - on your photos are likely useless other than make you feel good.

    Re: Your thoughts on Flickr

I appreciate all the responses and suggestions of other sites to use. I have my own web site for my photography but was wondering if placing photos on Flickr would be of any additional benefit. I am not interested in any social aspects, just something that might help me photography wise. I'm not in to things like tweeting or Facebook. Thanks again for your thoughts and suggestions, Jeff

    Re: Your thoughts on Flickr

I use Flickr as a showcase for my work. I also have a lot of friends on Flickr and it's a good way to keep up with their work as well. I've been a Flickr user for a long time and enjoy the community and groups they offer.

Question Re: Your thoughts on Flickr

I like flickr but I'd really like a similar service on facebook in order to group all my pics in one place...

I only found program doing so, which is in beta test for now, it's called pageyourself.com

Could anyone tell if other programs exist ?
What do you think about putting your pics on facebook ?
