    White Pelicans (7 shots)

    Shot in the south shore of Lake Chapala Mexico

    1. reminds me of large plane


    2. heavy crop, i like the hard light and the contrast vs the hill side already in the shade, a few minutes before sunset

    Pelicans look like bombers coming at you, especially if you get 3 or 4 flying together. They form a wing formation naturally, and they can cover great distances in a ground effect altitude, right against the water.

    And their droppings can dent a car, so they are bombers!!! :-)

    Nice shots. I imagine the smell was pretty strong, though!

    Nice series of photos! I think the one in that third picture must be a Criss Angel fan by the way it is levitating over the rest of the Pelicans.......LOL Jeff

    wfooshee, the little town is smelly ... they process a lot of fish, therefore the preference from the Pelicans, which does compound the smell

    Thanks Grandpa, that levitating shot seems to be the most popular

    GREAT PHOTOS!

    You should seriously consider entering these in one of National Geographic Magazine contests.

    GREAT WORK! They are all good - the 3rd one is my favorite. Outstanding.. This photo has character - tells a story.

    These shots are way above your average pelican photos! Worthy of publication IMHO.
