What's ON your 2010 calendar?

Asylum Steve posed the question "What's your 2010 calendar?" http://forums.photographyreview.com/...98643#poststop . Well, I misread his thread title and thought it asked "What's ON your 2010 calendar?" I thought that would be a good topic to post so here it is..

What's ON your 2010 calendar? Are there any significant events happening? Fun trips planned? What sort of fun do you have planned for 2010?

I have a couple irons in the fire. For starters, I will be taking an off roading (and of course photo safari) to Iceland this July. It will be a 13 day trip where me and some of my 4x4 friends rent highly modified Land Rover Defenders (they call them "Monsters") and explore the Icelandic Highlands as well as the little traveled trails of the island's interior. I can't begin to express just how excited I am about this trip, both from a driver's stand point, but from that of a photographer as well. The land of Fire and Ice has some of the most surreal and beautiful landscapes on the planet.

My girlfriend and I are also planning a surprise wedding for just after midnight on New Year's Eve (technically it will be January 1, 2011). We will be inviting all our friends for a "New Year's Eve" party. No one except the immediate family will have any idea about why we are really celebrating. Then, as the clock strikes midnight, we will make the announcement as to why we are all really gathered. It should be fun, right? lol

So, enough about my 2010.. What's ON your 2010 calendar?

PS. Manacsa (aka Poker) please don't mention the wedding portion on Fb or any of our frequented FJ forums. I'd like to keep this a true surprise.

wow! congrats!

the first few days of 2010 were spent in Los Angeles, visiting some family. We've got a trip to Asheville coming up in the next few weeks. Planning on moving to a larger house (either about 45 min from where we currently are, or about 6 hours from where we currently are, not sure yet). I'm starting school in the fall, and we'll be back in LA for a wedding later this year.

Had I known you were in LA, I'd have offered to meet up and take you and your fam out to dinner. I guess I'll have to catch you on the return trip, if you have time.

this past one was super quick. a few days over new years, disney, a play (mary poppins, was super duper if you have the chance to go) and meeting the sil's boyfriend. next time won't be so quick, will give you a heads up!
