    Tiny Pineapples on Pink Doilies

I don't know why I'm so drawn to flowers. I guess with my new lens it's just so much fun!

Great colors, Kelly. The composition and DOF are fine, looks a little soft on my crappy work moniter, but still a very nice shot.

What lens is that? You are surely making good use of it.

Very nice Kelley. Sometimes I wonder if I'll ever get there! You have a creative eye and a creative mind. (Tiny pineapples on pink doilies.) Gotta love it!

Charles, you're right, it IS soft, and I can't figure out why. I used auto focus, but I made sure the focus was on the little "pointy things" (see below). Here were my settings. Can you tell me what I might change to make it sharper?

    Shooting Mode
    Manual
    Tv(Shutter Speed)
    1/250
    Av(Aperture Value)
    5.6
    Metering Mode

    White Balance
    Auto
    AF Mode
    AI Focus AF

    Color saturation +1

Hmmm...not sure, Kelly. F/5.6 should have given you good sharpness on the yellow thingies. F/8 would have been better but it would have lessened the blur of your background, which you wouldn't want to happen. Maybe some digital gurus can help you with the settings you provided. Still, though, it's a nice shot.
