Tonight will be a great night - weather permitting! (Yes, NC is socked in with clouds and rain!)
The moon is unusally high, which creates a chance to get some awesome shots. The higher overhead a celestial object is, the less atmosphere - and hence distortion - you get. When an object is low to the horizon, you are looking through more atmosphere, and haze, smog, etc. So this is a prime time to shoot the moon.
