    Things such as they are.

It has been ten long years since I first joined PR in Feb of 03, and in that span of time I have had some great photographic experiences, many of which have been shared here. As many of you who knew me when I was a regular no doubt have noticed, I have not been a big presence around here for quite some time. The reasons for that are complicated, but one big reason that I can no longer deny is that I have lost the photographic lust that was the driving force behind my creative efforts behind the lens.

I cannot say I have completely lost the love, but I feel if I am ever to rediscover what drove me before it will be in a more nontraditional format.

That said, I have decided to divest myself of all my photographic equipment in order to pursue other interests. I have always considered PR as my photographic home on the net, and the people at PR as my photo family. I love you guys, and that hasn't changed, but I have.

Believe me, you all will be the first to know if I find my way back into this crazy game we call photography!

John, we have and will miss you. Drop in every once in awhile and say howdy. Just curious as to what interests that will be getting your attention in the future. Don't be a stranger. Jeff

John I too at times over the last 45 years or so of my love affair with photography have lost that burn that drove me to pickup the camera everyday. However I never fell out of love, it still burned down there in the depths somewhere. I hope that you too will find that spot and stay in love even though the glow of the early relationship may have dimmed. Stay in touch.
Don't forget about the Gallery. Are your photos there??

I have a few, but right now my main interest is my animals. I have four snakes, and am building a group of South American cichlids.

I just dropped bank on a custom reptile enclosure, and I am looking into breeding.

Thanks Larry. The love is not gone, just the fire. I am sure I will find my way back, but it will probably take a while. I know that I have lost touch with the whole traditional SLR style of doing things. I am liking the look of the new compact mirrorless cameras that are coming out. Canon has a pretty cool one, so I may eventually end up with something like that.

Unique past-time. I'd love to know more about this.
