    Jurgen,

That Tamron macro is an awesome lens. It was one of my first lenses, but I didn't do enough macro to warrant keeping it. Also, I have a slight camera shake problem, and had to use a tripod to get a sharp picture. I was never able to get sharp images such as the ones you shot here.

These are very nice shots - I love the flower - sharp with great color. And the portrait shows what this lens is capable of. I don't think I ever did a portrait with my Tamron - great job.

Thanx Liz for your comments...I hope your camera shake problem isn't due to fast living!!

Fortunately.....or unfortunately no! I've always had slight camera shake, but I think it gets worse with age.

Actually it seldom shows up, and never with the lenses I have now. However, I don't like to take the chance - especially at the long end......I got the 70-300 IS and it works wonders.

I took another look at your portrait - and it is really excellent. I'd like to see some more. Also, don't forget if you want a critique - you can also post the images in the Critique forum - you'll get a lot more replies.

I'm a mere Hammer-chewer, but bought this lens for my D70 having seen some examples on P Base. I've not been disappointed. Attached is a garden spider which I snapped (hand-held) 'in-situ' in the Garden one morning: I should try to use this lens more.

    Jurgen,

Great shots with the new lens! Enjoy the new toy; your doing a great job so far. Love the rose and the portrait, very crisp.

    Jaybs,

Welcome to the boards! Hopefully you enjoy your time on the boards! Great shot too, very crisp and a great amount of detail on the spider.

    Well done.
