Spring has Sprung or is springing or some other nonsense!

It's all about color. So show some of yours as they 'pop up'.

Three to get us started from today March 24, 2010.

Great colors Rick! February you say, in Feb. I was still wading in snow and rain and cold!

Keep 'em coming folks. I know someone is shooting flowers and colorful birds etc.

I'll play. The first day of spring I woke up to a couple inches of fresh snow, but it was gone the next day.

    Re: Spring Color 2010

We're getting some good work here! The color onslaught should be hitting us all before too long. Warm weather this week.

Who will have the first real North America (post Vernal Equinox) spring tulips?? I've got shoots, and I have reports of tulips not too far south but haven't seen a photo.

Those of you not in N.A. but north of the equator, what is blooming in you area?

These are the only things blooming at the moment. They're only 1-2 inches tall and provide a few precious grains of pollen for the early insects.

It's all about the color this time of year anyway!! You will have many days to shoot and get lots of different shots one or more of which you will be happy with!!

The weekend is here. I'm hoping for lots of photos of your flowers and other springy color.

    After all it is

    EASTER!

    Re: Spring Color 2010

Nabbed the first one in between gusts of wind before they all got blown away...hopefully they make it to full bloom. Second one was in some pretty low light, but the d90 says low light schmo light...and I like the 3d effect along with the contrast of the dead leaf. The third was a bit soft, so I faked a lens baby shot. Anyone know what these flowers are called?

Lord, there's some nice stuff here.
I've been itching to shoot and would have been this afternoon if the hot water tank hadn't sprung a leak.
Daffodils are my favorite flower and they don't last forever.

Found these trying to blend in with some skunk cabbages. Don't know what they are yet, but I loved how they were lit.

actually after I posted, I think I made and ID - false hellebore. Toxic. Blooms in May/June. Lily family but flowers look nothing like what we think of as classic lily flowers. It seems to like the same environments as skunk cabbage does - low lying, wet areas or running water.

    Tulips have arrived

    A few bluebells have appeared.

    More blue flowers.

. . . the Tulips - part 1. It was early evening before I got to shoot these and I'm not fully satisfied with any of the images.

It is a late spring here in Central Florida but there are carpets of flowers if you know where to look.

I wanted to especially mention the moss! Something not all of us think of as Spring but when it first turns that brilliant green it surely a sign of warmer weather arriving!

    Lovely color & textures!

    Here they come!

The tulips. Alas the wind blew these apart as soon as they opened the next morning.

More purple, its the year I think?

In close on an otherwise familiar and frequent flower.

    (note more purple and yellow)

Finally this is a true spring color item, this one just happens to fly! The robin was hunting worms and while I had a longer lens on the camera . . .
