    The Spring 24 Hours Pictures

Ha after all the hype I almost forgot to start a thread for the pictures

    The Spring 24 Hours

You can only post pictures in this thread taken between 12:00 am Saturday, April 14 and 11:59 pm of the same day - that's your local time. That's 24 hours. Take pictures of any subject you can find. The more diversity, the merrier. You can post your pictures at any time, this thread will be live for several weeks after the 14th.

There is a special option this time for anyone who wishes to add a challenge to their project, you may shoot everything only in photojounralistic style as if you were shooting to get published. If you choose this path, your pictures should document an event, like the picture on the front page of your local newspaper would. You'll probably also post fewer, and more selective pictures if you choose this route.

As in the past, I will post categories in this thread sorted by time so that we can group our pictures together my time. This way they all appear in order when someone views the whole thread.

I hope everyone has fun! Now get out and shoot!

Sorry....not even close to the challenge of photojournalistic style.

This is me after eating junk food, sorting my digital photos, and needing lots of sleep. Key light provided by Dell 19" flat screen and bright white photographyreview.com website.

I'm actually impressed with the low noise for a 1600 ISO photo.

Have a great day of shooting everyone!!!!

Midnight found a group of Explorers inside an abandoned cheese factory, but not just any cheese factory but Silent Cheese Factory, where strange creatures walk the empty halls and fridges.

Cold steady rain here today. Looks like it may affect my ability to participate. Not a lot of photojournalists pictures around the house.
Don't forget about the Gallery. Are your photos there??

I have to admit, I did not shoot this photo today but last week. But since I am temporarily out of a camera I figured no one would mind my posting it. It is spring related in the sense that Spring often means that new life begins. These are two teeny weeny hummingbird chicks I shot last Friday a week ago at my friend's place.

Not very sharp I know, but one handed shooting is a little tough. Went out for a morning paddle with some friends.

    Sometime this afternnoon:
Ninjas came in and made off with the couch and loveseat. The table under the mirror = where the couch used to be, empty space in foreground = where loveseat used to be...

Actually...they got sold...no ninjas involved that I know of...getting ready for the move.

I didn't feel much like taking pics today, but I did manage to get out for a little while this morning. I tried to call in some turkey's, but I didn't have any luck, so I took a pic of one of my decoys.

I have been wanting to shoot this old barn at sunset for a while now. I'll have to go back when the sky has more color.

After Fixing a bunch of stuff at the stables, I got to try out the Cokin Filters I won on Ebay. It was a brake between liquid sun sine.

This morning was supposed to be filled with pictures from the lake and the afternoon pictures of my Son's track meet. But due to the weather conditions both those fell through. So here is my day. First off nothing from midnight till now cuz I like to sleep during those hours.

Whatever you want to call it the nectar of the gods, breakfast of champions but I got to have my morning coffee to get my day started. Missing Pop- tart has been added to grocery list.

After breakfast me and my friends pictured here get to spend some quality time together. Thoughts of cleaning the upstairs (Boys) bathroom start creeping into my head and I am starting to rethink taking pictures at the lake in freezing tempter.

Cleaning almost done except that one bathroom. Hum maybe should add HAZMAT suite to the grocery list and see what develops. Time for my much needed second cup.

Re: The Spring 24 Hours Pictures

Here are mine from today - they all came at different times in a flurry of activity, so I am not sure exactly when they were taken. Today marked a couple of milestones for me, 300 posts here, 5000 actuations on my camera (purchased aug 2006) and the first shots with my new WA lens (24-36mm equivelent). That's about 10,000 frames a year, which surprised me. Actually, it's 2000 since january first, so that's more like 15,000 a year :-)

I spent my day working at reptilefest

Jim Nesci - you may have seen the late Bubba the alligator on Late Night or some other such show.

This girl will kick your butt. She runs a pit bull rescue and is the liason to wisconsin wildlife officials, and runs a small reptile rescue.

Kira keeps us in name tags, boa constrictors, and I've never seen her frown.

mother and daughter - thought this shot showed the likeness well. Yes, that's a snake in her hand.

Don Wheeler doing fundraiser tattooes, author of "Tales from the Golden Age of Rattlesnake Hunting." (great book)

    The next generation

And one animal shot for posterity

Hope you enjoyed my day!! same deal tomorrow, so must finish this bottle of wine in a hurry and get to bed!
