Not that I am counting, but speed pointed it out to me

shot today in the RAIN, so the exposure even at iso 3200 was 1/8th at f5.6.... DARK!

1D/100-400@400MM, ISO 200, F5.6,1/60TH, flash as main in P mode at -1.3 EV then slightly brightened in PS

WOODTHRUSH NEST FULL FRAME.... and I have plenty more ;)

BTW.. yes I know the head is soft from the shallow DOF, MF and handholding... but I don't care ;)

Awesome Paul. The shots you get out of that 1D/100-400 combo are amazing. You should set up a personal website to showcase your photos and post a link to it.

    Outdated? Not.

I've got a 20x30 inch print from the 1D/100-400 IS combo in one of my operatories that's at least as good as anything from 35mm at that size, and better than my wedding portrait from a Hassy printed at 20x30. Here's a link.

There's a lot of life yet in that 1D, especially in your hands ;)

NICE!! I was being funny when I made the "outdated" comment BTW. A Leica IIIG is dated, but I think Gerry Widen shoot that model quite well still ;)

Geeze Paul, did you notice how soft the head is? LOL! Heck I'm sqinting and I still don't see it!
Love the saturation, contrast, sharpness, and dof.
The sharp fg leaves and and blurred bg green "tunnel" really sets this apart.
BTW, I like this a lot,
