For those of you who don't live in the US, September 1st is Labor Day. It's a sort of end of summer holiday. And in Salt Lake City, it was dramatic. I woke up to lightning, thunder, and lots of hail. It was no Hurricane Gustav. But it certainly did signal a season change in a big way. So, in spite of being tired and sore from a couple days of big mountain bike rides, I did the right thing and hiked up to just below 10,000 feet to record our first taste of winter. It won't stick. But it's good to see as I also just bought my 08/09 Alta ski pass. Winter can't come soon enough
