    The Power of Snoqualmie Falls

Just amazing days after the flooding here in WA. Snoqualmie Falls is still flowing at full force. They finally opened the trail to the lower observation deck so I hiked down there today. Still very hard to getting any decent shots due to the spray and the fog the spray creates. I didn't clone out the water spots as I felt this wasn't a strong enough image to take the time.

WOW...great image. I think I might crop a bit of the rock in the foreground, but it would certainly find a place on my wall!!

For those of us who are not familiar with WA, what par tof the state is this in?

    Cheers,

It is western WA along the I90 corridor, east of Seattle maybe 40 miles. Every time I see a shot of those falls I remember my Dad's sick sense of humor. Nice capture Ray.

I like the rocks in the foreground and the water too. I just wish the falls were more in the picture and not so close to the edge of the frame. Also I would probably eliminate that red thing on the rocks on the left, Jeff

Great colors Ray. What was the exposure? Half a second? One second?

Thanks everybody for the comments. Unfortunately I had a very limited space to work in so composing wasn't that easy and with the spray it just multiplied to the difficulty. I tried wiping the filters after every shot and still water spots everywhere.

Good shot, Ray. Love the comp. Shutter speed is perfect. Most people, I believe, overdo that part. I realize you didn't have much light, but it looks a little dark. That's probably because you used spot metering. You might try a wider metering setting next time. Just be sure to keep the shutter speed about the same. You might be able to adjust the exposure on this one in your processing software.

Re: The Power of Snoqualmie Falls

Are the falls not so dirty brown already?
All the news shots I've seen lately, they are a raging torrent of dirty brown water but with out cooler weather, and dropping rivers, I guess they've cleared up some.
Didn't know you could actually get to them now. Have only actually stopped there a couple of times.

Now I'm very curious about Jimmy's dad's sense of humor?
    Keep Shooting!
