    Power Plant Implosion

Shot this power plant implosion this morning at 7:05am ,here in Chula Vista, California. Just Ok shots I think, the sun was a little close to being behind the plant, which I think affected the contrast.

Glad somebody else has the job of cleaning this mess up ...

Nice job Greg, as a reshoot was going to be tricky, I suppose you must have pondered a bit on camera settings prior to the event.

Isn't it a cool thing in nature that the colours never seem to clash...

I did ponder the settings a bit, though I think my only mistake was not moving farther down to reduce the angle of the sun's effect on the lens: I think the sun made the pix less sharp.

Yeah, that's cool. Back lighting illuminates the dust cloud well too. I'd like to shoot something like that one day. From upwind!

I've never seen something like this in person , it takes so much preparation and then it is over in seconds

cool series. I like the second shot where you can see all the birds fly away. I would love to get the chance to shoot something as rare as an building implosion. Sadly when they took down the RCA dome (Hoosier Dome) I was out of state. I have a lot of friends that did get it on video and still.
