    Photoshop Book

Can anyone recommend a good Photoshop book for the intermediate Photoshop user?

I know my way around Photoshop, and what I've learned is self taught and I came about it by mostly trial and error, but I would like to get a deeper understanding of Photoshop and what some of the terminology means.

I know I started a thread stating the "evils" of Photoshop, but after looking at the beautiful things we can do with photoshop, I am now inspired to turn my good photos into WOW photos.

I did a search on Amazon, but they all seem the same to me. Any help would be appreciated.

There is some discussion of this going on in Nat's "Mum" thread on the Critique forum.

If you go there, you also get to look at a couple WOW shots.

I really like Scott Kelby's books.
    Easy to follow
    Step by Step instructions
    Fun to read

Some of them are: The Photoshop Book for Digital Photographers
Photoshop CS Down and Dirty Tricks

    check out www.nobsphotosuccess.com

I wrote a 172 page manual on photosohp techniques. Thing about this is that we show what you need to know. All other photoshop books show you everything in photoshop, but in all reality, you only need to know certain areas.

there's also a Photoshop magazine out there. I just saw it at Barnes & Noble. I would think that might be a fun way to keep up with things too.

That's interesting you mentioned this one. I had just put that one on my wish list over at Amazon.

Yup, I have been a subscriber to photoshop user for quite some time now. It's free with a membership to NAAP. If your looking to turn your photo's to "wow" photos, get a book, not a magasine. Mags are full of ad's and small tips and a few tutorials, where'as a book is loaded with techniques. We are looking at having my manual put into hard cover this spring, everything I know went into it.
