    Re: Photographyreview: The People

    Name: Raymond E. Velasquez

Meaning of handle: It means nothing. I made it up several years ago when I was prompted by a video game to put in a handle in order to play.

Dorky PR club I belong to (if any): Clan O'Canon

Location: Reseda, CA (soon to change)

    Born: San Francisco

Other places I've lived: Hayward, Pleasanton, Lodi, Fresno, Camarillo (all in CA)

Like to Retire: La Porte, in the Sierra Nevada Mountains

Ethnicity: 50% Mexican, 40% French/Swedish, and a splash of Chippewa Indian.

Marriage/Family: Married to my lovely and sweet wife, Claudia, and I have three children: Eric (going on 19), Melanie (going on 17), and Adrienne (just turned 15).

I believe in preaching the gospel, doing good unto my fellow man, living an honest and godly life, and contending for the faith.

Political affiliation (if any): Conservative Republican. I hold to the Libertarian view of smaller government, practical conservation for the environment but NOT the extreme enviro-mental confiscation policies (let's go drill Alaska!!), am respectful of women but abhor the modern feminazi regime, and I appreciate greatly our first and second amendment freedoms with no apologies.

Other hobbies: Gold prospecting, metal detecting, guitar

How long I have been a photographer: 2 years.

First "real" camera: Nikon CP 5000

    When I joined Photographyreview.com: 2003

    Favorite subjects: Landscape/People/Wildlife/

Current Gear (Digital): Canon Digital Rebel w/Sigma 28-80 & 70-300, Speedlite 550 EX

Why I prefer film or digital: I don't have the patience for film, plus I rarely get it right in the camera the first time round so digital enables me to correct my mistakes before I go to print.

What I like about Photographyreview.com: The pictures, of course!!! Oh yes, the people too. And, the variety of subjects discussed.

What I am trying to accomplish with my photography: First, attempt to master a skill that I had never before tackled; second, to creatively represent in pictures the wonderful world around us; and 3) make some money while I'm at it.

Why I prefer film or digital?
There is a place for both.
