    Not A Flower Picture

This last summer weather has not been kind to the flower garden and I have missed doing the macros and closeups that I love. However with the coming of fall comes football. I have posted a few football pics over on the sports forum and thought I would try a couple here ans see what you guys think about them. These are form a JV game last night.

Great shots OT...I really like the way you captured the action and the expression on #31's face is awesome. I don't have anyone in football this year, so I can't pick up the gauntlet on this one...hehe...look forward to many more shots during the season.

    Re: Not A Flower Picture

Thanks Ken. I love to do sports photography. It was one of the first types of photography that I did in college. I am lucky in that I have been doing it so long here in my home town that I am never questioned on the sidelines. I am now taking pictures of the kids of kids that I photographed as Little Leaguers or high school ball players years ago. At the game I took these pictures at a mother of one of the players came up to me and ask if I remembered taking her wedding pictures. We both agreed that we wouldn't talk about how long ago that was. The point is that many in my community just expect to see me with a camera in my hands. I try not to disappoint them.

Nice action shots OT. The last one is great with the ball carrier turned towards the camera and his facial expression visible through the face mask.

Thanks Leon. I was hoping to be able to get a good photo of this young man. He is the brother of one of my son's high school friends. I wanted to get a good one of him for the family.

I just noticed no one has their ankles taped. When I was in high school in Canada (we called it Secondary School) 25 years ago, it was mandatory at my school to have the ankles taped up by the trainers before games and practice. Is it different here in the USA?
