Nikon fm10

I am thinking about getting a Nikon Fm10... I want a manual camera for my first and I have been researching things quite a bit. I just wanted to know if anyone here has good/bad words on it. Like how easy is it to find good filters for it and get other good assories. Also if you have a camer that is sort of like it or you think I should go with a diffrent brand just let me know.

The Fm10 is a decent, low-budget camera that will get you started in the photography world and makes use of Nikon's extensive line of lenses. It is not built to the level of Nikon's classic manual camera, the FM2n. I'd shop around a bit online to see if you can pick up a used body. If not, enjoy the FM10. :-)

The FM10 is a decent, entry-level manual Nikon but not truly representative of what Nikon is capable of. If I remember correctly, the FM10 clocks in somewhere under $200. It has a plastic body and lens mount, and limited shutter range.

I believe that for a relatively small amount more, you own an FM2N (like Charles mentioned) FE2 or other classic Nikon which will pack more durability into your camera body and extend the realm of shooting possibilities with more options. Filters actually go on the lens, not the camera body itself. Filters aren't had to come by but if you're wondering which size is the most common it's 52mm. If you're looking for a cheap way to get into filters, I recommend going to Ritz Camera and taking advantage of their "buy 2 get one free" deal. It's ongoing. Not the GREATEST quality but I use them still and for the price they serve as a great introduction to filters.

Have fun buying your new camera. The new FM3a is another pricier choice for Nikon.
