New Quick Poll - Your Main Camera

I started out making a new poll that would show me how many people were still shooting film. But it ended up being more detailed than that. So what's your main camera?

What Camera Do You Use The Most >>

Feel free to discuss. Although I use a lot of cameras, my mainstay is my smaller, consumer-level digital SLR. I have a pro digital SLR. But it's getting a little long-in-the-tooth and it's a beast.

Re: New Quick Poll - Your Main Camera

My main camera is my Nikon D2h. I use it 99% of the time, unless I'm shooting freelance for a certain company, then I use their gear.

Sometimes I'll use my D70, but thats only if I need to run 2 lenses & I don't want to change lenses all the time.

my main camera...haha, Canon A510 3 megapixel, it has a good range of manual controls (ISO, Aperture, shutter speed up to 15 seconds, macro, manual focus) It prints up to 11"x14"

All this for $200, 2 years ago, and in a format that fits in my back pocket, it's seen rain, wind, fire, snow, and still works.

I've been using the original Canon 1D for my primary body for almost 3 1/2 years. Although I have to admit that I've started using my wife's 20D for snapshots around the house because it's so much lighter.

The majority of the time, I carry my Samsung NV10, at least since Christmas time, and I'm actually taking most of my pictures with a digital point and shoot for the last year (Canon SD600, and SD700). Before that, I pretty much shot with my current slr or dslr, which the last three years has been the 1D mk II with a minimum of two lenses, at least one spare battery, and as many CF cards and SD cards as I could spare. Even when I had the G1 and later the G2, most of my shots were taken with either a film slr (EOS-1V) or a dslr (D30, D60, 10D, 1D, 1D Mk II), even though I tended to carry the G1 or G2 more often than an slr or dslr.

My Minolta Maxxum 70 is my main system since I got everything calibrated for the Zone System. I can now make prints on 400 Tri-X in a snap, with little guesswork. I also shoot with my Canonet for street photography or when I feel like slowing things down.

My only camera in use right now--the D70. I do have a Minolta Maxxum 5000 film slr, but haven't used it since 2004. Thinking about adding a p & s to replace the HP Photosmart 850 I gave my son and daughter-in-law in November.

Post a review for your NV10! I know we need reviews for that camera. I got to play with it doing studio tests and product shots for our pro review. It's a cool little camera and the first camera from Samsung that I could really say I liked. I thing Samsung is definitely on track with their new cameras.

My D70 is the workhorse and everyday camera it will be three years old next month. Unless I'm shooting sports then I go to the D2h for obvious reasons. If it's just carry along day the Fuji S602Z may make the trip. I plan to replace the D70 very soon with a D200.

    Canon Powershot Pro 1
    Carry around Fujifilm 4700zoom
Film Canon AE1 normally the 50mm FD F1.4 and 2 zooms in the bag.
    - just reminded me that I have to send some film off (Thanks for the reminder)

When out with my wife I use the Nikon L6 which I bought for her.

Soon to be a 30D or its replacement if it comes out before May. Too busy to use any of the cameras at the moment.

Cool Re: New Quick Poll - Your Main Camera

Nikon D200 gets 99.9% of the action these days. I still shoot some with my K1000 and slide film (night and astronomy stuff).

I finally took the batteries out of my N80 and F5, but I still can't bear to part with them. I've got 30 rolls of Superia Xtra 400, 10 rolls of Sensia 100, some NPH and Porta 160 NC if I have someone wanting something shot on film.
