    My first posting

Just wanted to say hi -- any other southern california residents in this forum?

Although I'm just an amateur photographer (gives me something to do with my free time), I finally sucked it in and got a quality camera a couple of weeks ago -- a Minolta X-700 -- and I'm having a great time. Anyone else use this camera before, I'm amazing how much my photos have improved, and it's extremely easy to use?

    See you around the boards,
    Vanessa

There are a lot of Southern California people around here. I'm not one of them and sorry I can't help you with the camera, but... welcome to the site!

    Welcome, Welcome, Welcome!

    Welcome to PR.com!
My first camera was the X-570, so I know that the 700 is a fine camera.
Make sure you read the manual, if you don't have it I am sure you can find one online.
Make sure you check out all of the forums at least once.
I look forward to seeing more from you.

    Vanessa,

Welcome to the boards, always great to have new people posting and interacting. New gear can be a blast, and, like the majority of people who've posted, haven't heard of that model, if it makes you happy, it's a good camera! Also, remember usually it's the photographer taking the good pics, not the camera!

    Welcome,

    Jared

    Vanessa! Welcome!

I'm not from California, but I'm a crazy Canadian! And we have another Minolta user on the boards and an old school one at that. The X-700, is a very nice camera, never used it personally, I'm still using my SRT-102.

So yes, let's see the photos!

Too bad. I'm northern California. Berkeley to be exact. Do you do manual, aperture, or shutter priority? Welcome to PR.com!
