    Moon shot from tonight

I tried to get a shot of the moon tonight and came up with this. I would like someone to please verify that is the US flag just to the right of center and down a little bit right next to the footprints, Jeff LOL

At 200mm the moon isn't too terribly impressive. Good exposure but I can tell that its a major crop by the grain. Moon shots are also pretty much nothing special about em lol, Oh, the moons in the center, to the right, to the left, there is X amount of black space around it, lol. They are fun to shoot though, I just want a 1100mm, or maybe attach to a telescope.

Funny, I was just thinking the exact same thing with regard to another thread. Does silence generally mean "nothing to critique," "beyond repair," "I just don't like it, so no comment," or... ?

Artistically speaking, it's a nice shot. Even the color is neat. It's the grain/resolution that's the major impediment here, IMO.

    Re: Moon shot from tonight

I had a friend with me that was shooting with a Nikon D3S with an 800mm lens with a 1.7 extender on it. For the price difference I didn't see where his was any better. I was shooting with my Nikon 70-200VR 2.8 Obviously I would have had to crop mine much more but even with that they wasn't that much difference, Jeff
