    Monument Valley, AZ

I found Southern Utah to be a very spiritual place, but the road home took my sons and I south into Arizona, more specifically, Monument Valley. Upon seeing it in the distance, I understood deep in my soul why the Navajo deem this land sacred. I can only hope my photographs can do the place justice...

    One last shot...

And I think I saved the best for last. This is my favorite shot from the week long trip and a total of 351 clicks of the shutter.

    Thanks for taking a look!

    darnit

another one made me teary--- although I've never been to Arizona...the southwest as a whole with it's colors and textures just makes you glad you have eyes to see and a breath in your body. Thanks for the moving shots (for me at least) made me miss places and people I love and got me there for free--- no airfare ;)

the first one especially --wow. Nothing like it...

WOW- this is my favorite as well. In a word- beautiful! I've never been out west. We'll be dropping the kids in Oregon to stay with Grandma in a couple of weeks, but unfortuantely hubby and I won't be staying. Someday I'll get to see the mountains... *sigh*

    Truely beautiful images

The richness of the colors in your images is breathtaking. Wonderful job documenting your trip. This is a part of the country I have never seen, but your images have convinced me it is a must before to long. Well done.

    The pictures are quite spectacular.

After living amidst the desert southwest for my entire life, I can see how other people like it, but man, I'd do anything for a photo trip to like Canada or Alaska or anywhere that doesn't leave my socks stained with red dirt perpetually =)

    Someday I'll leave the desert....

Anyways, super pictures, very well done.

Great shots Brian. I can't decide which one I like the best. Great light in all of them as well. Wish I could have been there.

The Nikon Samurai Strikes! Powerful images. Great colors.

The third one looks like a postcard. Very nice!

The fourth one really appeals to me. I like the rain in the distance. Very moody shot, and definitely not your typical "seen this a million times" shot. I think this one is my favorite of this series.

The last one is a classic. I love the reflection in the water! Beautiful shot my friend.

    Thank you for sharing these!

    Gald you like them Paul...

    And thank you!!

Sedona is a great little "artsy" town and the surrounding areas are gorgeous! I had a lot of fun the last time I was there.

Time to pack up for the Yosemite trip!!

the town on Sedona is a tourist trap....... I'm speaking of the area 5 miles below Sedona proper

179 towards 17 will bring you to the area i speak of..... actually part of it is the far end of RED ROCK
