    SLC Valley and Mountain peaks

    Hello all,

Please give your thought's and ideas on my following photographs, the good and the bad.

The first one is of the SLC valle from the bench.

The second one is of a snow bank with cool clouds which I thought kinda looks like a mountain peak.

    Thanks

    Greg

    Another SLC resident?

I like the clouds in both of these images.
    Very powerful.
You bring the total to four PR.com'rs from SLC.
Smells like a PR.com gathering waiting to happen!

Ok, so it's not quite the left coast. Close enough...

What threw me off was the valley part. I always thought SLC (see, I'm hip, too) was, like, you know, an elevated city like Denver. And next to a lake. With salt. You mean to tell me there's a valley there too??? Cool...

Anyway, what do I know? I live in MOUNT DORA, which is about 10 FEET above sea level. Explain that one...

    You sure that wasn't KOKOMO???

SLC is surrounded by the Wasatch Mountains on the East and the Oquirrh Mountains to the West. SLC sits at an elevation of about 4200', and has peaks surrounding the valley that range up to 11,000'.
You come out here, I'll show you around.

    Behold, the Salty Pond.......

This is from last year at the height of the drought, so it's more of a pond than a lake. Anyhoo, a few for you to enjoy......
