Met my first PR Member!

I was Sandee's assistant yesterday at her wedding. We actually met here on PR 4 years ago and have kept in good contact since. I flew here (Southington CT) on Thursday (Still in CT) and we hung out, and yesterday we had Sandee's first wedding. Everything went great, we managed to get some outstanding images, and the B&W were very impressed with the both of us. Here are some I workflowed this morning, Sandee is still working on hers (because she has wayyyy more than I do) and will post some when she's finished.

These, as always are outstanding images Hodgy. I especially love the first and third one of the bride. I am wondering whether I might be able to trouble you for some details as to what post processing you have done on the images? Also, your lighting is exceptional. Any tips for someone who has just purchased the SB800 for my D70?

Sorry, Im still on Sandee's comp. Hence the username (Hodgy)

All the images are windowlight and natural light. If your using flash, I suggest play around, try getting it off camera. I will grab my chord and hold th flash wayyyyyy off to the side to get some funky lighting. I"ll post some when I get back into Canada.

Workflow

After, I have downloaded, burned the files to two sets.

- resize all images to 4x6 @ 250 dpi (proofs)
- open up filesbrowser (to view all images in thumbnail form)

Now, I will open up each image, one at a time, starting with the first one.

so

- open up image, keep? Yes? No?
- No?, close and delete
- Yes? Apply workflow action (this action will autocontrast, increase sat, defog, sharpen, and add noise. I also have this action for B&W, it converts to B&W first)
- apply whatever creative actions I chose at this time.
- apply sloppy border action
- save and close (action)

I go through each image like this.

Now, When I have like 12 images that are milliseconds apart, I will choose the best out of the bunch, workflow that, and delete the rest. So in Theory, I don't actually "workflow" 1300 images (only 400-500).

My key to worklow is actions. I have everything I can possible do in an action (if available).

Sometimes all I have todo is open up an image and go through F3-F9. Most images take under a minute.

I'll be shooting a wedding at the end of the month for a buddy of mine. So needless to say I have been looking at LOTS of wedding images these past few months.
Thanks for posting yours Hodgy, they have been very inspring to me.

Great Images as usual... I really like the exterior/interior church meld. Made me look twice. Reminds me of the guy that does the photos with the escalator ending in the ocean... Can't think of his name right now... Anyway, Good job and I hope you enjoyed your trip!
