Oh that is sooo great Gene. You hit the nail right on the head. Come on Rick you got a rep to protect, take the plunge, join the crowd, keep up with the Jones' no self respecting craftsman as yourself would be caught dead without a D70 in his tool box. It's just sooo sexy laying there beside your cordless drill and miter saw.

How very true! Yoda was very wise.

But you DO NOT want to hear "This one I cannot teach."

So, as much as you hate it, you have got to go buy a D70 and make your obligatory first post, announcing your purchase and showing your first shot(s).

Judge me by my size, will you?

What if I have a picture of somebody else using a D70? Doesn't that count?

What if I scan my pics, say it was shot with the D70, and never tell anyone?

Please don't make me get it!!

    Cracking Under The Pressure

Then hit the relief valve, and buy the D70!

Think about how much more versatile it will be over your Coolpix!

Think of the Coolpix as your D70 primer.

Think of all those magnificent Nikon lenses you can use on the D70.

Think of the magnification factor with your telephoto lenses.

And once you have it, then "You can go about your business".

Remember, "My allie is the force. And a powerful allie it is".

May the Force be with you Rickster!

    Talking Advice for Speed:

Think about how much more versatile it will be over your (35mm) SLR!

Think of your 35mm as your digital D70 primer.

Think of all those magnificent Nikon lenses you can use on the D70.

Think of the magnification factor with your telephoto lenses - and how great the moon will look - and how we will all cheer when we see your new moon pictures.

And once you have it, then you can worry about paying for it.

Remember, "My allie is the force. And a powerful allie it is".

Think about how your lovely Dawn will look through that beautiful VF!

    On second thought........

    ;)

"Do or do not. There is no try."

Of course, being a hardcore Canon user, I can understand your reluctance to continue throwing $$ at Nikon equipment.

In fact "I'd rather kiss a Wookie."

    Sorry, couldn't resist.

Do what you gotta do man. But don't let peer pressure make you do something that you'll regret! Hang tough!

Rickster is well aware of how great Nikon camera's and lenses are! That's why he's a NIKON SAMURAI!

It's the obligatory first post, telling everyone he bought a new camera that he is avoiding. He doesn't want to sound like he is bragging, that's all.

    Not bragging?!

Master Speed, I think you have underestimated my self-indulgent side!

Were Samarai #4 to buy the D70, you would definitely know! There would be D70 self-portraits and posts a-plenty!

I am simply avoiding buying one. I want a pick-up truck and Craftsman Sliding Compound Mitre Saw first

Ahhh, But I'm Not Feeling Any Pressure Like Rick

    "How will I know?"

"You will know, when you are at peace."

I am at peace, and I feel the force. I am resisting the dark side.
