    Luckenbach Texas - Musicians

    Hi everyone.

After the sad events of the past week, I just wanted to spend a little quality time with my own daughter. Work could wait. So, we visited Luckenbach this evening to see some Texas Bands and hear some Texas music. Do you know the little town that Waylon Jennings & Willie Nelson made famous? If you blink you'll miss it though. It is a major destination stop around here, & in its in my neighborhood.

Well the McKay Brothers were already finished, & just a couple of pickers were hanging around plucking out a few songs. So we grabbed a bench and listened in anyway. It was my daughter's first time there - she really liked it. The music was good, & relaxing.

I took a few shots there. Those chickens were cracking us up! They roosted in the trees directly above the tables/benches. So needless to say, a few folks had to move, or else they would have been bombarded!

We had some good laughs. Good memories.

#1 Is the front of the main store, aka gift shop, aka bar, aka postoffice.

#2, #3, #4 are behind the store. That is where the biggest crowds hang out. The pickers play there, there is a tiny outdoor stage, washer pitching, and toilet seat tossing.

In the closeup #4, you can see the bar's back window. It's a walk up bar! Caters to the inside and outside visitors.

    Only in Texas!!!

The famous Luckenbach dancefloor (barn) is nearby, but not in these photos.

"Everybody's somebody in Luckenbach" is their motto.

    Last two are my faves...

Great capture - Texas equivalent of street photography!

Are you going to submit them to Texas Highways [I tihnk that's the name of the mag] or a similar magazine?

    Thank you, Thank you!

I really do appreciate your kind words and thoughts. I visit Luckenbach fairly often, and I am in the process of posting some of my images in a photo essay on my website. I'm still working on the page, and will let you know when it is viewable, I'd love to get your feedback!
