    Last Lumix shots-Crater Lake

Last picture posts for a little while-I promise
These were from Crater Lake. Absolutely gorgeous out there-the photos can't begin to convey the beauty of this park (especially not this camera).

Wow! It looks and sounds like you had a great, relaxing time. Yes, I can relate to your thoughts about leaving the heavy equipment at home. Mine isn't as heavy as yours, but for me it's heavy.

These are nice, very nice photos. The color is great, and they're sharp. A few months ago I bought the Lumix Z3 - with coupons, it was about $260. I got it for a second camera. I found that in good light, it's excellent, and it has the IS which for me is a help. However, like you, I found in low light, even with a flash, it is absolutely AWFUL.

I'm looking at these images, and something came back to nag me.

I've been seriously looking at the Canon 200mm/f2.8L lens which I had a while back and sold because I didn't think I used it enough. Then I really missed it when I wanted a long lens which I don't have. The 200 is a reasonably priced awesome "L" lens - and the rebate ends tomorrow. So big decision time!

Your pictures remind me that maybe I should feel guilty as I can use the Z3 for those 200mm pics. However good, tho, they're nothing like the Canon "L" lenses.

Thanks for posting the pictures - btw - you have a wonderful family. I think I've said that before, but it's obvious from your pictures what a nice happy family you have. ;)

Thanks for the kind words Liz. It never ceases to amaze me how having kids has changed my life. When I'm at work, I'm always thinking of my kids. I can't help but wonder that God is constantly thinking of us and our well being, and concerned with all the choices we make as His children, the same way we as parents fret over our kids choices. I think God gave us children to give us a small revelation of what it's like for Him-especially when they ask for things that are not necessarily good for them. How often do we pray/ask God for things that maybe aren't in our best interests to have? ;) Just a thought passing through my head this day as I came back from church today, and reflecting on how I'm faring as a parent in raising my children.
