Just got back from Oregon and testing my new Lumix.

It took all my strength and will to leave my beloved 1D mkII and 40 lbs of "L" lenses behind for a mini family vacation in Oregon this last weekend and committed myself to using and abusing my new Lumix FZ-5. It was gorgeous up there in Oregon. The weather was cool, the landscape breathtaking, and the mosquitos were ravenous ;) We visited the Oregon caves, rode the Hellgate jetboat tour on the Rogue river, and stayed a night at Crater Lake. After shooting about 500+shots on my new Lumix, I have come to the conclusion that for small excursions with the family, it will suffice-barely. I guess I'm just too attached to my monster 1D and "L" glass. I gave a fairly scathing (possibly unfairly) review of the Lumix FZ-5 yesterday, but after reviewing all the photos during breaks today, and some latenight editing last night, my opinion is unchanged., Some pics with the new point and click camera.
