    I'm in a gallery!

One of my New Years resolutions is done! I have 3 of my photographs on display in a local gallery. This is a jurried show, open to anyone who is a member of a local arts organization. They had over 60 artists submit over 250 pieces. They choose about 50 pieces to display. The show includes photos, wood working, metal sculptures, paintings, pastels, poetry, digital creations, mosaics and many other forms or art. The show is in the Harry and Laura Nohr Gallery in Ullsvik Hall at the University of Wisconsin – Platteville from February 4th to 28th. There are also photographs from 4 other members of my photo club in this show as well.

Here are a couple photos I took of the gallery on Tuesday night.

Heck! I figured from what I've seen here that you were in lots of galleries all the time.
    Congratulations....wise jurors there, I'd say.

    way to go mike!

huge difference between printed large, framed and hung, than on a screen. I wish more people would make the effort to make prints...but so many people think the image on the screen is enough...

Thanks everyone. I wish I would have taken more pics of the other displays in the show, but I was short on time. I'll try to get some more before the show ends.

Thanks Adina. I couldn't agree more about the prints. Seeing them on my monitor is nice, but seeing them displayed in a frame is even better.

Way to go Mike. It is really a kick to see you work alongside other very nice pieces of work and know that they measure up. Hope this is the first of a lots of gallery exhibits to come.
Don't forget about the Gallery. Are your photos there??

    Re: I'm in a gallery!

Thanks for bringing this thread back, and thanks for the kind words. At the same time that this show was going on, I had a solo display of 14 of my photos at my church. My photo club is scheduled to hang some of our work in 2 local coffee shops later this spring. There is also another gallery show coming up next month that I'm going to try to get into. If I get into that one, it will be 5 shows for me so far this year.
