Wink For Those Who Want To Shoot The Moon...

Tonight will be a great night - weather permitting! (Yes, NC is socked in with clouds and rain!)

The moon is unusally high, which creates a chance to get some awesome shots. The higher overhead a celestial object is, the less atmosphere - and hence distortion - you get. When an object is low to the horizon, you are looking through more atmosphere, and haze, smog, etc. So this is a prime time to shoot the moon.

Sorry Rick, this isn't an invitation for you to photograph your derriere.
    :-O

Not that the ladies would mind...
    ;-)

Oh, what the heck, so ahead and do it if you want to. You haven't posted a self-portrait lately...

As if I needed an invitation, LOL

I noticed the moon last night and it had a small halo around it - first I've seen in a while.

I'm looking forward to the full moon to go out and get some more lunar landscapes shot by moonlight

    Thanks for posting!
