What were they protesting? My first guess would be some kind of clothing/fur type thing, but you never know....

Folks, let's remember to keep personal political views out of the forum. Threads like this will not usually end well because of the polar opinions of our members, so let's not go there, please.

    I'm one of those idiots.

Marched Sunday. Saw no naked people. Took lots of photos. Sunday was amazing - Young, old, black, white, inbetween, freak, normal, etc. *everybody* was marching, not just the freaks. They only show the freaks on tv because that's what people want to see. I have seen SSSOOO many peaceful protests, so many poignant actions in NYC this week.

I just deleted a rant, but NYC has had such a wild energy this week and evreyone is all riled up, so I'll take a time-out and censor myself. Cos it's all about the photography, after all, and photograph I did. Hopefully this weekend I can post some!

    Sorry Charles!

I posted before I read your reply. I hope I wasn't out of line. Anyway - I'll not post anymore words about our - er - reason for extreme traffic congestion in NYC.

    Just images, I promise!

No, Megan, your post was fine...I was just concerned that the thread to turn into one of the many ugly debates/fights over the war/Bush/Kerry that you see in too, too many photography forums. I've seen many photos posted on sites under the guise of photojournalism , only to have the photographer use that to hop up on their soapbox and rattle off their political views. I didn't want that to happen here because I think it would be inappropriate.

p.s. I'm glad you didn't get arrested...they would have confiscated your Holga!

I'm not talking about all the protesters - these are the same ones that broke onto the RNC floor while Bush was speaking. Apparently the Aids protesters were the ones that were causing a lot of trouble. Funny, more money is dedicated to Aids research than any other disease research (including breast cancer research). http://nydailynews.com/front/story/226336p-194391c.html and http://abcnews.go.com/wire/Politics/ap20040902_898.html and http://abclocal.go.com/wpvi/news/82604-nudeprotest.html. The media said that people were paying more attention to the peaceful and creative protesters and ignored the yelling, cursing, disruptive, violent and screaming and rude naked protesters. My friend works in Wall Street and said they were supposed to be there - but apparently they were outside MSG.

Nah, I was just talking about the naked ones! lol I think everyone is entitled to their views, just as long as they don't obstruct other peoples lives while doing it! There were people obstructing traffic by laying in the middle of the road and stuff. That's just wrong.
