Thank you so much Penny. I have been getting some good tips on photographing orchids so I hope Y'all donn't get tired of seeing me post a few pics of them here and there.
These are breathtaking! I grow Phalaenopsis orchids and have been trying to capture a good image for a long time... Would you share your tips with us? Maybe I will post some of my photos to share info etc?
frannymac, so far, the suggestions I am finding most usefull are for background types and lighting. A photographer I know who has been hired to take pics for an orchid society suggests a mottled green or blue background and on occasion some backlighting to highlight the "hairs" that grow on some species. Peronally, I like the black velvet background I used on the first photos but the lighting is another issue.
